The AMEC Prize: an Award for the Best Communication Practices

Communication is a competitive field in where every work aims to overcome the one performed before and the competitors one; different plans, strategies and actions are being displayed by the communication professionals whom objective is always to conduct an optimal communication, that is able to inform, persuade, entertain, interest, aware, etc. Targeted publics with the best performance possible, in order to maintain the competitiveness and its “fair play” in the field of communication, several organisations have create prizes with the objective of award the best practices.

One of these organisations is AMEC which stands for Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication. AMEC is the world’s largest media intelligence and insights professional body, representing organisations and practitioners who provide media z and communication research, analysis, evaluation and insights. AMEC currently has more than 160 members in 86 countries worldwide.

 This organisation has created  the AMEC awards, a global awards programme for communications measurement.  This Awards aims to recognise and celebrate exceptional work and showcases the importance of research, measurement, insights and analytics.

How to enter the nominations of the awards? 

A submission of an entry of the project to take into consideration have to be done online every year before the established deadlines, every work is eligible to enter to more than one category and some support materials such as supporting information, ppts, and videos can also be sent; an entry fee also have to be paid online, this fee differs for private organisations and for non-profit ones and it has some early bid reductions according to the announced dates of the awards of the year applied. 

Every entry is analysed by a jury who reserve the right to change the category in which an entry that has been submitted if it is more appropriate in another category and the judging process has two different stages, the first one is the shortlisting in where the judges will be asked in groups to score each entry considering any supporting information using the judging criteria. The highest scoring entries will determine the shortlist. The judges will not be involved in the judging of any categories their organisation has entered. And the second stage is the Grand Prix judging in which All the Golds (the highest scoring entry in each category) will go into the Grand Prix judging. The Chair of the judges will make the final decision if there is a tie.
